How ATM Services Work

SHAZAM ATMs are connected directly to the SHAZAM network through telecommunication lines. All transactions run directly to the SHAZAM switch and then to the card-issuing financial institution's processor, other networks, or SHAZAM's Card Authorization Service (CAS) for authorization.

Each leased-line ATM has a dedicated diagnostic modem supplied by SHAZAM. Dial-up ATMs use a different type of modem that is supplied or purchased from the ATM vendor.

SHAZAM monitors ATMs using SHAZAM's terminal monitoring service. In the event of service issues, the terminal monitoring service automatically notifies the ATMs first- or second-line servicing organization as specified by the acquiring financial institution.

For additional information, contact the SHAZAM Account Executive in your area or call (800) 537-5427.
